Private Hearing Aids

Private Hearing Aids with a difference.

You may have seen an audiologist already (private or NHS); and felt that your consultation was either rushed or that you needed more time to talk about your hearing loss or your hearing aid settings. Hearing aids cannot be programmed correctly unless the audiologist spends time with the client/patient. This is time that many retail or NHS audiologists simply do not have available to them.

“You’ll get used to it.”

If you have been told this by your audiologist, it is partially true. Yes, we will adapt to hearing aids over time but as a hearing aid user (old or new), we also need our hearing aids set-up for our own individual hearing preferences. We need to have confidence when we leave the clinic that the hearing aids are going to work. Hearing aid wearers do not need to be bombarded with background noise, metallic sounding speech or given multiple buttons (programmes) to press. Here at Westcountry Hearing Care, we talk with many patients who have been disillusioned with their NHS or private hearing aids simply because they didn’t like the sound or because the audiologist didn’t have time to explain how they worked properly. They often end up in the drawer unused and in the case of private hearing aids, a complete waste of money!

“Time to try again ?”

In time, and working with a private audiologist we can optimise the fitting (prescription) so that you hear much better and that your listening confidence improves over time.

We don’t fit hearing aids and then ask you to come back in 6 months or a year, we offer a very personalised hearing aid fitting experience. This will help you to get the benefit out of your investment, immediately and in the months ahead.

“A different hearing aid experience”

How different and why? - very simply, the way we look after you is not what you will experience at any other business.

There is plenty of discussion time with no sales pressure and we work with you to solve your listening problems. I also bring 30 years audiology experience into our discussion and two thirds of that time has been spent working for hearing aid manufacturer’s as well as tinnitus, hearing & balance testing equipment companies.

“Time to pay us a visit - 45 minute complimentary appointment available”
